Visitor Guidelines
How to ensure your day at Alwoodley goes perfectly
We offer the following guidelines for visitors to The Alwoodley Golf Club.
On Arrival
Visitors should enquire at the Professional’s Shop to obtain the access code to the clubhouse and details of visitors’ lockers. On Sundays, the clubhouse sometimes closes before dusk, so make sure to check the opening hours with the Professional to avoid being locked out!
Tees of the day
Visitors must use the yellow/red tees unless otherwise agreed with the Club.
Buggies
Only the buggies provided by the Club may be used. Permission for use of a buggy must be sought from the Secretary/Manager in advance. Permission will only be given for medical reasons.
Dress code for the course
Smart golfing attire must be worn at all times. The wearing of denim jeans, tracksuits, replica (ie football) shirts and trainers as golf shoes is not permitted. Gentlemen may wear tailored shorts, and the wearing of single colour knee-length socks is preferred, although short white socks may be worn.
Dress code in the clubhouse
Smart casual dress throughout the day, with jacket and tie required in the dining room on Sundays.
Mobile Phones
Telephone calls must not be made on mobiles in the clubhouse or its surroundings. Telephone calls should be made from the car park. On the course, mobiles should only be used for emergencies.
Insurance
Visitors’ golf equipment and other property is entirely at their own risk. Visitors should carry insurance against third party liability.
