I would like to thank you and all of your team for the outstanding service and beautiful presentation of both the Mackenzie room and the buffet for my mother’s wake. I thought that the choice available for the menu was very good and vegetarians were well catered for. Many guests commented on the attractive layout of the buffet table and that the food never seemed to run out!!
The Mackenzie room made a perfect setting with its beautiful views over the course and felt private and comfortable. I will certainly recommend the club’s services to others; the wake was exactly as I had wished for.
We recently held a celebration for my parents’ 65th wedding anniversary at Alwoodley Golf Club. Claire and her team were excellent and made my life very easy. Everything was organised efficiently from the smallest detail to the overall look of the room, which was lovely. Claire’s attention to detail made the day a joy and we could enjoy it without worrying. I would highly recommend Claire and her team at Alwoodley Golf Club and would have another event here without hesitation.
As Captain of Hallamshire Golf Club in Sheffield in 2021 I wanted to have the traditional Captains Away Day at Alwoodley GC for a number of good reasons. I was not to be disappointed. From my first contact with the GM’s Office through to the day itself the experience was both seamless, efficient and memorable.
Richard Weeks was able to accommodate the day being moved back 12 months (covid delaying my term of office) with no fuss or push back. In addition AGC showed flexibility and practicality in largely honouring the terms of the original booking. The communications from Richard in the office and the catering team leading up to the day was first class which gave great comfort when organising 40 golfers for a day out!
First impressions count and on the day itself the welcome we got was impressive with neatly presented AGC staff ensuring that no-one had to wait too long for their breakfast sandwiches. Furthermore the Captain of AGC made a surprise appearance to welcome us all-a classy touch which was unexpected. The course itself more than lived up to its strong reputation presenting a tough but fair challenge-we all enjoyed the golf immensely.
Afterwards in the wonderful surroundings of the AGC dining room we were able to enjoy an excellent 3 course dinner presided over by Claire, the highly efficient food and beverages manager. I have since received many positive comments from HGC members as to the quality of the food-the steaks we had were of top end restaurant standard. Throughout the day nothing was too much trouble. Special mention must go to Richard, Claire and John in the Pro Shop for ensuring the event was a roaring success. Good luck to AGC for the rest of this year and thank you once again.
