The first of Alwoodley’s quartet of par 3s, all of which come in the space of eight holes in the middle of the round. It is also the gentlest, with a very large green, though it does have some subtle contours, notably towards the back. Especially when the hole is cut in the front half of the green, this hole offers an excellent chance of a two.

The 7th is complicated when the wind blows into and off the left – as it often does. As you would expect at such a short par 3, the bunkering is penal.
