The Clubhouse

Our bar, dining, lounge and locker room facilities

Alwoodley’s handsome clubhouse is ideally equipped to help you enjoy your day at the club off the course as much as you do on it. It was opened in 1995 and was designed by renowned architect Charles Morris. The ‘half-horseshoe’ design can be seen from as far back as Manor House Lane which dissects the club’s 17th hole, and Morris purposely designed the building with pale materials to offset the dark backdrop of Ilkley Moor which can be seen in the distance behind.

The main lounge is where you will find our bar, serving a range of traditional hand-pulled ales as well as wines, spirits and soft drinks.

On a nice day, there is no better spot to enjoy your refreshments than on the veranda that overlooks the 1st tee and 18th green.

Be sure to pay a visit to our MacKenzie Room, where you can learn a little more about our legendary designer Dr Alister MacKenzie. You will find some rare memorabilia as well as the story of how this Leeds GP went on to design some of the most famous golf courses in the world. The Mackenzie room can comfortably seat 25 for smaller formal/informal functions.

Our large dining room can seat up to 90 and can cater for special occasions and formal dinners, as well as allowing smaller groups to enjoy a meal.

The upstairs of the clubhouse has multiple meeting rooms as well as a snooker room.

Our men’s and ladies’ rooms are equipped with showers and towels and lockers are available to ensure safe storage for your valuables.

In Spring 2022 the club’s kitchen underwent a full refurbishment with new equipment installed and updated. Spring 2022 also saw the arrival of our new Head Chef, David Cutcliffe who brings with him a wealth of experience from various positions at range of restaurants around the world. Claire is supported by our Food & Beverage Manager, Claire Smith who is available to help you organise any events onsite.
